ISSAQUAH VETERINARY HOSPITAL

Our Staff

Doctor

  • Dr. Estelle Shuttleworth , D.V.M.

I received my DVM degree from Michigan State University in 1976. Upon graduation I relocated to southern California where I practiced as an associate for 9 years. In 1986 I purchased my first clinic, LaVerne Animal Hospital. I practiced there until I sold the hospital in 1992 and moved to the Northwest. In 1994 I decided to become a business owner again and purchased Issaquah Veterinary Hospital. IVH, as it is affectionately known, is Issaquah's oldest veterinary practice. Since acquiring it we have done extensive remodeling on the building. My goal was to modernize the facility while retaining the look and feel of a country veterinarian. My staff and I are dedicated to our profession, clients, and patients.

I've been with the IVH team for 3 years but I've been practicing veterinary medicine for 15 years.  I grew up in Ohio and got my degrees from the Ohio State University.  I moved to Maple Valley in 1992, right out of vet school.
Within the past 6 years I've been developing my skills as an acupuncturist.  I also use western and chinese herbal remedies as well.  I still very much enjoy Western Medicine but I think they go great together.
I look forward to meeting you and your pets.  Please feel free to get in touch with me if there is anything I can assist you with.

Management

  • Sandy S Sircin , Veterinary Technician, Office Manager

    Hello
My name is Sandy Sircin, I've been a  member of the IVH Team for 3 years. I'm a native Washingtonian but I grew up on the Eastside of the state.  My background in Veterinary medicine began as a teenager working at a clinic in Moses Lake. I moved to Seattle to pursue my Veterinary Technician degree which I achieved in 1979. After graduation I worked at a Cat Clinic in Seattle where I stayed for several years. I took a break from my career to raise my 2 kids and to create my menagerie of 2 dogs, 3 cats and 2 horses. I try to do as much riding as I can.  My love of working with owners and their pets has kept me in this field for more than 20 years.
I look forward to getting to know you and your pets.

Technician

  • Cindy Crowley , Licensed Veterinary Technician

Hi furry friends and your owners!  I have been working in the veterinary profession since 1969 when I started as a kennel helper.  I stayed at that same veterinary clinic for almost 30 years down in the Puyallup area where I grew up.  During those years I obtained my license along with attending the big veterinary conference in Las Vegas for 15+ consecutive years.  I remarried in 2002 and moved to Sammamish and was hired at IVH in 2003.  With much heartache, I ended my position in Puyallup the end of 2005 and am now devoted to IVH 100%.  My true passions include dental care and preventative care and weightloss consultation.
I have a rescued Golden Retriever, Katie, who came with absolutely no manners whatsoever.  She has come a long ways, but has far to go.  She has a wonderful attitude though and has hope.
My cat is now with my son and his family since my husband is allergic.  I am enjoying my new life in this area helping raise a young step-daughter. My son and daughter are grown and I have 6 grandchildren!  We enjoy our family cabin near Crystal Mountain.  I love to read, travel and absolutely marvel at the changes that have taken place in the veterinary profession since I started.  I look forward to seeing you and your pets here at IVH.

I was born in Arizona, raised in California and lived in Washington long enough to have webbed feet.  I've had animals all my life but have only been working in the Veterinary field for the last 5 years.  I have 3 horses, 3 cats, 2 dogs, 2 children and one husband.  Being a 4-H leader for 13 years was my other passion but now I hope to have time volunteering with my dog "Zoey" as a therapy dog through the Delta Society.

  • Jenene Conklin , Licensed Veterinary Technician

Hi, my name is Jenene.  I've lived in the state of Washington since I was seven.  As a young girl, I had a healthy interest in animals.  As a child, I took in many orphaned wildlife including squirrels, raccoons, and baby birds, which I rehabilitated and released back into the wild.  As a member of FFA, I raised and showed pigs and rabbits.  I have a passion for reptiles and have cared for a variety of snakes, tortoises and lizards.  For a time, I bred bearded dragons.  I have fostered and found homes for many wonderful animals. I worked in the veterinary department and as an adoption advisor at the Humane Society for Seattle/King County.
I have a bachelor of science degree in  Zoology from the University of Washington and am a licensed veterinary technician.  I joined the IVH team in 2005.  I commute from Maple Valley, where I reside with my husband, my daughter Natalie, 2 dogs, 2 cats and 2 lizards.
If I can be of any help to you involving my special interests, I would be happy to assist you.

I have been with the IVH team for the past year and a half now.  It just seems to flys by!   Though I have only been with this team a short while compared to some of these veterens, I have been in the customer service industry for the past ten years.
I have only one pet, a cat named Lily, affectionately nick-named Lillard. She's a terror that graces my life each day.  Like most loving pet owners, I wouldn't change her for the world.
AMAZING NEWS!!  My husband and I are eagerly awaiting the birth of our first child.  ITS A BOY!!!  We should be welcoming him into our lives this July.  Yes one of the warmest months.  Gladly it's not Texas or Arizona heat!
Though I love working with all of you and your amazing pets, sadly when my son is born I will be leaving the IVH team to start a whole new adventure.  One that involves a whole new form of STOOL-FECAL samples!  Wish me luck!

I was born and reared in the Seattle area, now I live in Maple Valley.  Animals have always been a big part of my life.  Over the years I have had all kinds of pets;  dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs and even a black widow spider named Priscilla.  I now share my life with 13 Siberian Huskies.  I am a recreational musher, but most of them are serious sleddogs.

I came to working in veterinary medicine rather late, I taught elementary school for 25 years.  I have been at IVH less than a year, and l love working here.  I learn something new every single day.  I help care for great animals and I spend time with heroes.  It doesnt get better than that.
