Do you know how to keep your loved ones safe and protected from themselves?

 

Myth:     Rhododendrons are very poisonous.

Fact:      The flower may cause sleepiness and irritate the stomach. 

                It would take a large amount for major effects.

 

Myth:     All plants that are not toxic to humans are safe for animals.

Fact:       Some plants that are not toxic to humans are harmful to your animals.

Example: Lilies are toxic to cats but not to humans.  Also some plants toxic to Humans are safe for your animals.

 

What can poison an animal?

 

“Most dangers for an animals are like those for a small child.  The following items are of REAL concern for animals.  Spills should be cleaned quickly!

 

Keep these items out of reach and in their original labeled containers:

 

-Slug bait, rat/mouse, ant or roach poisons.

-Antifreeze, Oil or other car fluid products.

-Any medications, Human or animal, (Animals often chew containers).

-Cleaning products (powders & liquids).

-Plants known to be toxic.

-Fumes from nonstick cooking surfaces and self-cleaning ovens (deadly to birds).

-Homemade cedar & soft wood shavings- including pine (small animals).

-Homemade rawhide doggie chews (may have salmonella).”
